Sorry to hear this - I know what nerve damage is like
But, everything has to be used correctly, it was a very hard lesson for you ............

Indeed - overdoses are not clever and you could use the analogy of 2 paracetamol = pain relief, 20 paracetamol = death.

I'm one who was helped greatly by a Tens when I had a frozen shoulder, so I wouldn't like people to be put-off from trying one because of an example of misuse

Oh -sorry about your experience though Tpin. Shoulder pain is very debilitating. Have you consulted a sports physiotherapist about treatment/exercises to help?

I went through 12 months if physio, twice a week.

I'm not blaming the machine, I'm warning people to be careful and to use sensibly, I made a mistake by falling asleep and suffered greatly. My own stupid fault, nothing more, nothing less.

Re: Tens machine

Based on the comments in this thread, I took the plunge and got myself a `Paingone` pen from Amazon for a gammy knee that I've had for years as a result of constant kneeling as part of my job and a bad fall from a ladder some years ago. My usual `trick` is to take Co-Codamol when the pain gets too bad which lessens but doesn't take the pain away completely.

I couldn't believe the result after just one use of this pen on my knee, the pain just vanished and I was pain free for the whole weekend. I took the pen to work with me just in case as I was up and down ladders most of the day and when a very slight twinge in my knee started up, a quick use of the pen sorted it out.

It says the pen can be used for migraines when used on acupuncture points (a chart of points is supplied with the pen) and as one of my daughters suffers from chronic migraines I'll think I'll let her have a try to see if can sort her out too.

Thanks for the tip.

Yep, first session was great, I was pain free for 3 weeks which was fab, I was looking forward to my next session however it didn't relieve any of my pain so I didn't go back.

My pain meds do the trick now, I take Gabapentin and Naproxen which for me are wonder pills and I'm finally pain free!
