Val, sickness is a very common side effect to Chemo drugs, but the sickness pills are very useful if you are suffering.
Don't forget that the ingredients of the Chemo are poison, but in very measured doses, so you are bound to feel ill.... but they are not poisonous enough to kill you.
Cancer cells are mutant body cells that increase at a much faster rate than ordinary cells ... and they don't like the poison in the Chemo! This means that they are killed much faster than your ordinary cells, and that is how the treatment works so well.
I don't know how long your chemo is being given for, or if it has finished yet, but It could take a while to get back to normal...although your body does heal from the poison. Make a note of how you feel during the chemo, and when it is finished make notes on how you feel each month. It isn't immediately obvious that you are recovering. but if you look back at the first set of notes you will notice that you are.
The best advice I can give you is " Be determined that you will beat the illness, rather than let it beat you". My oncologist told me that positive attitudes really help...and I know my positivity did for me!
