Thank god (bless his noodly appendage) I don't have to take any regular medication, toxic or not, so am not faced with these choices.

Do calm down. You're sounding hysterical! I haven't advised anything, but if the side-effects are worse than the symptoms, then PERHAPS alternatives.........such as not taking the drug..........should be considered!!!

Doesn't sound like advise to me - sounds like a suggestion that any poster here is free to make without being jumped on by some opinionated bigot.

She could also take a look at

and see if her problems are shown as a side-effect of that drug by others!

Lithium isn't used much these days for Bi-Polar.
