Interesting to read the reviews...the Telegraph reckons it was "fizzing with comic energy", really?

Well I think we are on social media of sorts and it seems we didn't like it either.

I think it's sad that the BBC are no longer able to make a good comedy. I was watching re-runs of Ever decreasing circles yesterday which were much funnier.

I suppose it must be very difficult for the BBC to make a comedy without upsetting anyone.

There are things said on this forum that make me LOL.

I agree!
But quite often when youre having a genuine comedy moment or reading someone elses some bod gets offended...maybe thats the nature of comedy?

I'm with you on that one!
My favourite Python is Michael Palin
I only have to look at him and I start chortling

Unfortunately, Cleese just seems a bit too desperate imo.

I do like Alison Steadman. She's like gold dust to any show. Such a pity with this nasty script. She must surely be able to pick and choose.

Yes, I'm afraid you're right.

The Industrial Age has passed.

We are now living in The Age of the Offended.

I agree. I found John Cleese funny in Fawlty Towers, though less so in Monty Python.

Michael Palin, on the other hand, was the funniest of the Pythons in my opinion, and has been funny in just about everything subsequently: Ripping Yarns, for example, and even in documentaries like his travels across the world.

He has a certain charisma and facial expression that enhances his witticisms.

Of course, he has the distinct advantage of being a Tyke!
