I don't understand the preoccupation with chips here these days we never had chips as kids they should be banned.
Those days are gone, except in some places.
I had a "slice" of Death by Chocolate Gateau at Bristol Cathedral buttery that could have fed an army. Luckily, I had willing assistance to help eat it!

The USA is well known for large portions and, with people travelling there more often, I believe those large portions have moved to our restaurants. I really think that American influence on what we eat has added to our obesity problem.
I have a good appetite and clear my plate at home. I don't eat out often, but if I do I visit a good restaurant where they serve smaller portions of quality food.

Again, depends on where one goes. There must be personal responsibility for one's food choices vs blaming it on others, or indeed a whole country. Just my 2 cents.

I totally agree that it is a personal responsibility but from what I have seen on TV programmes, from the USA, portions are much larger than they used to be here.... and it is easy to make people greedy! I suspect America has some obesity problems too.

Oh, of course. We have our own issues and gluttony can be very easy to fall into.

Re: Too big?

Hi

I have always lived in hope of a lady complaining it was far too big.

Not something that has ever happened.

I agree about the portions in the USA, my kids eyes where on stalks.

Holly had never seen cake and ice cream for breakfast.

She was in heaven.
