Is there a way I can build up my immune system?
I have been taking steroids for the last 10 years, starting at 30mg per day but now down to 7.5mg. This is help with an auto-immune condition, I am still surviving

Re: Immune system.

Same here Rehab, taking 7.5 mgs daily for years, increasing it for arthritis flares, then reducing again. GP trusts me to monitor my dosages. Without it I would be totally immobile.

As for the suggestion that someone should just stop statins without knowing their medical history, that is totally irresponsible.

Don't be a muppet CeeCee

When I say "get off Statins" I mean get off them and on to an alternative treatment. Statins have become well known now for being terrible things and people are moving to alternatives.

My GP has tried me on every type of statin and statin substitute available, none of which could my system tolerate. So no alternatives, and I am most certainly NOT a muppet.

My family all take a good probiotic each day (good bacteria). Add to this a healthy diet full of prebiotics (food for the probiotics) eg garlic, bananas, onions.
Hope this helps
I will mention that to my consultant next week, but I don’t think he will say that a bottle of yoghurt per day will cure my condition

Agreed, totally irresponsible, I believe that some people should not be allowed access to the internet, they read, digest and believe all the nonsense the read on the conspiracy websites.

Re: Immune system.

I don't disagree that with proper diet and exercise, many people probably COULD get off of statins and blood pressure meds, etc. But some people, regardless of diet and exercise, still have elevated cholesterol levels, as well as hypertension. Not everyone taking these drugs is a fat, lazy slob that doesn't take care of themselves. Women especially, once menopause hits and the hormones start going berserk, have problems with everything rising - weight, cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. It's just a sucky fact of life.
