Better late than never.

With the wintry weather in full blow i was surprised to see a report of Waxwings near my home.

There had been few reports of these occasional Autumn visitors so off i went and the bus dropped me off riight beside them.

The venue a Coternaster tree next to some flats.



The reason for their presence.





Getting a clear shot was almost impossible, as they were constantly 0n the move at the back of the tree.



We were not alone, as this fellow and 2 cats in the windows followed proceedings.

I love these little birds, Nom. More of a regular occurrence in your part of the country I think, but I had the privilege of seeing them once on the tree outside my house, on the West side of the country a few years ago. Beautiful to watch and they rested for quite a while.

Thanks everyone, i paid a price, my hands are still thawing out. Ive noticred some interesting birds arriving down south, so im hoping for a god April and May bringing some goodies.

I'd love to see Waxwings, but we never seem to get them here. Super photo's, Nom.

Don't think I have ever seen those little birds here Nom, what lovely facial markings.
Beautiful pictures, love the way the collared dove is keeping his beady eye on you too.

Doesn't a lovely blue sky add richness to a photo too.
