Re: Tiler's daily labour rate, and how many days
Hi Moyra. Read your message this morning on my iPhone but unfortunately was unable to log in (no password). I think you've confirmed my suspicion that he HAS overcharged me somewhat. I've read handymen forums and they all seem to say a bathroom can be done in about 2 days!Re: Tiler's daily labour rate, and how many days
Just been to a local DIY chain to look at tiles, and found myself going through my requirements with an adviser. Upshot is, they could well be doing the whole job! Waiting to get a call to arrange an inspection. Decided to go for new shower, new flooring (vinyl tiles) and mebbe a heated towel rail.Re: Tiler's daily labour rate, and how many days
Jazzi - £180 a day if we assume 8 hours working is £22.50 per hour which, for London is quite normal I would think.Re: Tiler's daily labour rate, and how many days
Well, the chap came today and within 60 seconds I was saying 'thanks, but no thanks'. Before coming round he'd added £1,000 to the original quote, and as we talked further, it crept up to £5,000 and beyond! And he was talking of weeks, rather than days.Re: Tiler's daily labour rate, and how many days
Well mine wasnt that price but its London prices I think. We are bathing in the shower cabinet now, much easier, just walk in instead of getting in the bath , and I was so impressed by the tiling I had the kitchen retiled and its decorated and is lovely.Re: Tiler's daily labour rate, and how many days
Before trusting any trader, check first with Age UK in your area. If you're over 50 they can supply trusted builders, tilers, roofers, gardeners or anything else you'd care to mention at a more reduced cost than you would pay if you went direct.Thread Tools | |
