[QUOTE=MKJ;423689]I was thinking along those lines but I can't really see where I could place the lighter as the only removable part is the lower panel.

The lighter is one of those designed for lighting gas hobs, ie with a long stem, so I put it through the artificial coals to light the gas.

Well that would work but ... the artificial coals are behind glass. Could I remove the glass?

Anyway I stipped it all down and cleaned everything, adjusted the spark distance. Funny thing it works perfectly without the wooden cover in place but with I struggle to get it to light again, as if the air flow is affecting it. I know the air temperature is mild today with very little air flow around the pilot light so maybe that is playing a part?

Learned a lot though . Not so daunting a task to take a look now. Hardest part was getting that damn knob off.

Once Russia pulls the plug, we won't have any gas anyway - problem sorted

Re: Baxi Bermuda Fire Won't Light!

What would happen if I took the glass away from the artificial coals - hypothetically speaking kinda?

If I do blow the place up it is Rachel's fault, oh and Janela has to take a fair bit of the blame too .
