Re: Over 50s Club Yorkshire

Ive been lots of times, Pately Bridge is a place I visit a lot as it's not too far for me.

It's a nice shop but if you want a really nice sweet shop the one on Grassington is the best especially if you love liquorice like me They have every type imaginable..it's a gorgeous little shop, half way up the high street just off the square

Shipley Glen.

Not a million miles from my home town.

I found this particular picture very picture sque, what with the arrangement of colours and the stile making a good point of focus.

Hebden Bridge.

There are a number of Yorkshire towns and villages built on a steep slope, like this.

I have mixed feelings, though. They are certainly picturesque and interesting, but walking up those steep streets isn't easy!

My son lives in Shipley and I worked there many moons ago. The Glen looks lovely there

Very pretty have to admit I prefer North Yorkshire. West Yorkshire doesn't seem as pretty to me, that picture is lovely though

Actually, the northern part of the West Riding is just as beautiful as the North Riding.

Even some of the industrial parts of the WR can be very attractive, once you're out of the built-up areas.

Of course, I should include a map of the REAL Yorkshire Ridings boundaries, of which I am sure you are already familiar!

Old Mother Shipton's Cave, Knaresborough.

For those unfamiliar with this place, over many decades people have been hanging all sorts of items under the dripping lime-laden water in order that they become encased in limestone deposits.
