You're #1 simple but impressive dish!

I have this theory that everyone (who cooks) has that special thing they cook for friends that is:

a) easy
b) impressive
c) delicious

Mine include Jambalaya, Pork Stroganoff and sizzling Fajitas on my mexican skillet.

I'd love to learn a few more. What are yours?

Re: You're #1 simple but impressive dish!

The thing I'm most requested is steak and ale pie, I always slow cook the beef first. I dislike mashed potatoes so I usually do roast potatoes and buttered cabbage with it.

I like chilli and I often do that when the kids come round because I can do a quorn one too as my daughter is vegi.

Last but not least my favourite chef is James Martin and his Pork Loin with Butter and Walnuts is lovely. Im not onto deserts I usually just do fruit salad.
