Re: Society getting more selfish ?

I think it's to do with the facebook generation. they are outraged about everything.

Local to me, a car had been parked on a double yellow line so the facebook warriors were out in force, moaning and groaning until someone pointed out that the driver had had a heart attack and had been rushed to hospital

I think I'd be embarrassed to admit I was this selfish. I do sometimes wonder what goes through people's minds when they do things like this.

It just seems so many people are thinking only of themselves these days.
I suspect people are no more selfish today than they ever were.

Hi

It is my experience that it is.

Years ago you never insulted a cop, now you can tell them to F Off 3 times before you get done.

I have been utterly apalled by the abuse nurses suffer from drunks and druggies.

If anyone spoke to my daughter like that or gropped her they would not be a happy womble.

I think that it is disgusting that society puts up with it.

A hundred years ago cops were groping and physically abusing Suffragettes.
Simply for wanting the vote.

This disgusting act further goes to strengthen my opinion of the U k in general now, society there has been getting worse over a number of years. Its become a case of NIMBY or I dont care about anyone else, or anyone elses property.
You know just the simple thing from another topic about recycling plastic and cans, we have these in most stores or in a seperate room off the store, not a trace of graffiti, dirt , plastic bags etc anywhere , even waste bins provided for bags , hot water and soap to wash hands. I can just picture this in the U K , spray paint , graffiti , probably empty glass bottle because the machines dont take glass. we went today took our bin bag of bottles cans , refund £8 to spend in the store .
There are idiots in every society.

I can even think of 1 in Norway which, statistically, 100% of all Norwegian citizens I have ever encountered.

Like Anders Brevik and other far-right nut-jobs. Norway has its issues. Not as bad as Sweden but getting there. I wouldn't even visit Scandinavia and feel I was missing out on anything.

I find it odd that you join a largely UK site and do little but crow about how great Norway is. Get on one or two of their own sites. Why not practice by writing some Norwegian here if that now is your culture inter alia?

I'd agree, you just hear more about the selfish ones.

And there's more to this story. The papers say she's been charged with breaking a restraining order. So maybe she's a serial nut job, and there's always been nut jobs.

She sounds like a nut job, I mean, who really does stuff like that? Not rational people, that's for sure.
