I will never forget. It was "River Deep, Mountain High". Had been waiting for the record shop to get it in, paid my money, went off happily, went to buy a stamp at the post office, and walked out without my precious single. Only walked a few yards, flew back but it had gone forever.

With a Boots gift voucher but I didn't have a record player at the time.
My mate's parents had a radiogram though

I can remember buying 45's records from Woolworths,they weren't sung by the original artist.Was the label called Embassy?Or am I thinking of a ciggy brand?Can anyone recall?

You are correct rhosyn, it was Embassy. They did cover versions of the originals. Well done for remembering. I had forgotten until you mentioned the name.

A soundtrack of a motor race, Norway? What does that consist of then....speeding cars, screaming wheels and burning rubber noises? The mind boggles
