May, it's the first line of a poem by Charles Murray called The Whistle. I got "from a big rowan tree", but sappy sooker I would presume to be a small branch or twig, to be made into a whistle.

The whistle that the wee herd made.

"He played a march to battle
It cam dirriling through the mist...."

I am a Scot but I don't have a very broad accent. It's a two edged sword. The English, or those who notice, recognise it as Scots, The Scots mostly think I'm English.

Re: Do you have an accent?

I do have a really good strong Scouse accent Rhian.
But your question made me think of this...

A long tome ago I used to go into a pub in Northampton were I lived at the time.
I fancied a particular barmaid and one way and another got chatting to her.
Anyway.
She said to me:

'Oooohhhhhh I really do love a Scouse accent, and I could just lay there and listen to it all night'.

Well needless to say.
She was one barmaid who was granted her wish!
