It can be, but I have to say that since the 1980s/90s it has become increasingly dumbed down to attract what is becoming the majority of our population!

That was the main reason for me binning mine, JBR. Didn't see the point of paying an extortionate license fee for something that was nearly always switched off.

The other one was poor signal when we went digital - it was like viewing through a veil.

Been without since 2003 and haven't missed it. Prefer DVDs, Radio 4, or a good book.

It offered me nothing. I had one once but days and weeks went by without my switching it on.

Then there is BBC and its television tax which I disagree with.

Nowadays if I want to watch anything decent I'll turn to Netflix on my Mac.
