Hi Skouser that is the way it still works here.
I have just ordered a repeat prescription online which I will collect next Monday from the doctor's surgery pharmacy.
Before I leave the surgery I will open the package and make sure I have the correct medication .
If I was so vulnerable/incapable that I was unable to check the medication myself I would arrange for someone to check it for me.

Skouser it seems just your gp surgery that has changed their system. You should change to another practice in your area. The others run the online system.
