Childrens Photos/Info on Social Media

Parents who upload pictures of their children on social media could be sued by their sons or daughters under France's privacy laws.

Mothers and fathers face a year in prison and a fine of £35,000 if they are convicted of publicising details of their children's private lives without their permission.

It will eventually happen here.. so your opinions welcome

I don't like it never have, you won't find pictures of any of mine on the Internet, unless they gave permission.

I can see the sense in this Solo - youngsters have rights too
Some parents just don't think of possible outcomes

People should not put their kid's photos on the Internet, it is definitely an invasion of their privacy. Paedophiles have been known to use these photos for their own perverted purposes.

Absolutely......I would never entertain the idea of posting any of my grandchildren on the web.

I agree that people should not put their children's photos on the internet. To me that is just common sense. Not sure about suing them for doing so though.

When you see the number of photos some people post of their children and grandchildren I can well see why some might want to sue, especially now employers look back at their social media accounts too.

Re: Childrens Photos/Info on Social Media

Over the years, many warnings have been given on this practice of showing youngsters photos and information on sites, and whilst it is always nice to share, on many occasions these warnings have fallen on deaf ears.

I have lost count at the derision that has been poured on those that have seen the dangers and tried to advise a more cautious approach.

I don't put photos of my grandkids on anywhere, just one of my great grandson, then I changed privacy to close friends.
I also asked people not to post them in my photography group.
You often see people using pictures of their children as profile pics.
