We should have condemned it but it's not our place to police the world the Eu have set themselves up as our bosses and government, so it is their place to do it. Instead they make mealy mouthed pronouncements that support the aggressors ! So much for keeping the peace !07-10-2017, 02:43 PM

When the UK proposed its referendum on membership, the EU was very happy to welcome an independent Scotland, should they have voted for that, although they made a song and dance about how Scotland would have to re-apply for membership with no guarantee of acceptance. Of course, the EU would prefer to have rich countries for obvious reasons!
When Catalonia attempted to gain its independence recently, the EU failed to condemn Spain's high-handed response. The EU wants to keep as many parts of Europe under its rule.
It goes without saying, of course, that the EU would really like to keep the UK under the jackboot, as we are a very attractive cash cow.

Nazi Germany could equally claim to have kept the peace in Europe once it had conquered all of it!
In fact, NATO has kept the peace in Europe since the Second World War.

Like f'r instance Bosnia/Croatia/Serbia conflict, then there was Kosovo. More recently there was Ukraine - didn't intervene then either.
