Philanthropy at its best!

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife are putting 3billion dollars into a project to find cures for diseases, according to the BBC Breakfast programme this morning.

I hope I heard that right! Let's hope otherwise billionaires follow!

Hi TessA

Just saw that on the news and have to say I am impressed. Let's hope it's genuine though as I never quite trust the look on Zuckerberg's face. Hopefully it isn't just a ploy to buy up all of our medical records and sell us drugs. He does want to take over the World after all.

I heard that too Tessa Bill Gates has done many things for charitable causes too.

Even when cures are found new diseases emerge, I guess it is nature's way of population control.

Yes, good on him, but I think lots of other billionaires have been doing this for awhile, Bill Gates being the most eminent. Personally I will have to leave my billions to my penniless dogs just to maintain their current lifestyle....

Good on him, if everyone did it imagine the world we could have.

I see another campaign we could all help with is when you get your first new plastic fiver, give it to charity of your choice which sounds like it could help a lot of charities if we all do it.

I just read that Microsoft are developing molecular computers that will be able to do something to destroy cancers cells.

Total waste of money imo. The cures are already there imo and won't be released until those holding them want them released. if he wanted to be philanthropic he should have spent 3billion on getting rid of the sugar conglomorates.

Whatever anyone does, there's always one to criticise.
