Death of the Great Barrier Reef

If you want to see the Great Barrier Reef best go whilst it's still alive.
Because of rising water temperatures and human activities the coral is bleaching and dying .

That is very sad to hear this Muddy ........is there nothing that can be done to preserve it at all?...when something like this ceases to thrive then it will definately have a knock on effect on other wildlife systems in the oceans around that area, there needs to be a fine balance in nature and once that balance gets knocked out theres no knowing the far reaching consequences of it

Its death is greatly exaggerated.

Reports the famed 1,400-mile network of reefs ‘passed away in 2016 after a long illness’ are greatly exaggerated despite mass bleaching, scientists say

There is not much we can do to stop ocean temperatures rising .Its happening all over the world .
Coral is fragile and easily damaged .
Also mans activities ie development always effects the sea concrete etc leaches down to the shore and kills the young fish fry that live at the shore line . Plastic waste has done terrible damage to wildlife too.

Re: Death of the Great Barrier Reef

Hi

I keep Corals and Marine Fish.

The Great Barrier Reef has suffered irreparable damage, far more than any other Coral system in the world.

There is a very simple reason for this, it is down to Australia's very lax pollution controls.

It will never recover.
