Just heard from my son in Wellington . They are all ok thankfully .
OH going out there on Tuesday so hope everything is ok then .

That good Abbey things don't look to bad on the TV lots of structural damage but people are safe.
I hope your family are safe too..

have you had this happen to you? When we were up in the West Midlands there was a small tremor around Dudley that lasted for only a few seconds.Yes we were a few miles away but still felt the ground move. I can tell you it is a really odd event seeing the ground shake under you. Trying to aprehend what one considers the norm, having the ground and everything move, unlike any other movement experienced before, the brain can't really grasp.

Unfortunate as it is, it is to be expected in all the countries and regions around the "Ring Of Fire", just as you would have to expect it if you lived on the San Andreas fault. People choose to live within the Ring Of Fire so I guess they expect to suffer earthquakes.
