Re: Constitutional reform

He's lost then! The upper echelon won't let that happen, too much power and money involved.
He should have kept that quiet until he got into no.10!

Dream on Joe, dream on....

Although whilst I do agree that the HOL is an abomination and should be scrapped, Corbyn will never be in a position to influence it's demise.

Re: Constitutional reform

If he was that concerned about reforming the HoL why did he recommend Shami Chakrabarti for a peerage? Using his own criteria, shouldn't she be elected to the post and not for services rendered to the Labour Party?

Re: Constitutional reform

I can see a need to reform much of parliament, less MPs would be a good start and a part elected part appointed second house. But we have to be careful we don't create a dictatorship possibility. Don't think anyone wants that.

I'll put your ignorance down to the fact you're new here, but I've been advocating a directly elected second chamber for many years, abolishing the monarchy too, and having an elected President.

Re: Constitutional reform

UJ how would an elected second chamber differ from the first chamber, completely elected chamber worries me we would have two identically made up chambers and no brake on the more outrageous ideas.

Hi

You have posted about how much you have travelled in Eastern Europe and how much you sopprted them.

Read this.

http://www.neweasterneurope.eu/artic...089-blokowisko

That is what you and Julie are supporting.

No individual freedoms, control by the unelected few, forced removal to work where the need is, compulsory membership of the ruling political party and forced attendance at meetings and voting the right way.

Absolutely no choice on where you live and if you do not work, no benefits.

Who is the real nasty party in this?
