Ornaments

Do you like lots of ornaments about the home, or are you minimalist? Do you see them as something else to dust! Do you collect a particular ornament? I only have the odd quirky ornament about. It has to be something that catches my eye.

Re: Ornaments

I used to have a lovely collection of Coalport China figurines but we were burgled and they took the lot.
I haven't had the heart to replace them.

I have a few ornaments that I like but nothing valuable.

Re: Ornaments

Love my ornaments most have memories behind them or are what were given to us when people die so when I dust them I remember all those lovely people.
Nothing has any monetary value but all have huge sentimental value to us.

Re: Ornaments

I have a few, don't like clutter - and the ones I have can be seen easily, not crowded out.

Re: Ornaments

I used to have a lot of ornaments but they have got less and less and most seem to be pointless as I don't really look at them only when dusting.

There will be even less soon .When I decorate next year I am going to get rid of a lot of my furniture including the dresser which holds the ornaments.

Re: Ornaments

Although I have some nice things I don't keep any breakables around. I used to but things kept getting broken with the grandchildren around, so I have wrapped most of it up and put them away for a while. Funny thing is I have forgotten most of what there is packed away now, so one day I'm going to have a big car boot sale.

Re: Ornaments

My late brother brought me a lovely 'set' of cats from Japan - a Mum, Dad and four tiny kittens. Friends saw them, admired them - and added to them!
Every Christmas and Birthday more and more cats arrived. When I moved into this house I put glass shelves up across the bathroom window and housed them all in there - there are now 359 of them in there!! But people do still keep buying them for me so some have escaped into the sitting room. They are a really pain to keep dusted - but I love them all as they remind me of the lovely people who gave them to me.
