Re: Our Home Move!

Our Estate Agents say leave it to them to inform our buyer of this new development - after Christmas.

I personally think that's a bit unfair but we will abide by what he says.

There is nothing we can actually do as long as she is still "in the loop" and still says that she can't wait to "make OUR home HER home". stevmk2

Re: Our Home Move!

I'm worrying about my move as my house is up for sale but I can move to my new property in a few weeks, the problem being I will have to insure the empty property, I don't know how that works whether it's on a month to month basis I haven't a clue but it's going to be expensive, my current insurance can be transferred so that's one less thing to worry about, saying that, I'm worrying myself sick about everything to do with moving and the costs!

I can only repeat what I said to Steve, Honey. I've just done it and at the time it felt like my worst nightmare but it has been worth it. I also had to insure my old house for a few weeks after moving and it was no problem. I doubt it is much different there, but I kept my old policy going for the old house and started a new one for the new house, same company. They may stipulate stuff like turning off the water, or getting someone to check regularly, but it shouldn't be a problem. Good luck!

Re: Our Home Move!

Most insurance companies will only insure the property for 60 days which is the norm, mine have advised me to move my current policy across to the new property which will be straightforward and contact a broker who will insure my current property though I don't as yet know how it works

Re: Our Home Move!

Fair enough, Honey. My insurance on the old house was less than 60 days, so I guess I didn't know that was an issue. Hope it is all not as daunting as it seems at times!
