A cashless society - the push for plastic

As the new pound coin is being phased in, here is an article on the push towards a cashless society. Could you live without cash? Would you want to?

I think I could live without cash quite easily. I only ever have about £10 in my purse and very often that is there for a couple of weeks before being used, only to be replaced by another £10 cashback when shopping with my card.

I prefer cash. The only time I ever had a credit card was when I went to India for 6 weeks - in case of emergency. Never used it - cut it up when I came home.

Whilst I embrace the new technology, contactless and Apple Pay etc, I prefer cash

As Swimmy says, honesty boxes need cash, and we not only have one ourselves, we shop at plenty of them

I do not use a credit card, except for buying online, as insurance should there be a problem. Everything else is paid for on my Debit card (same as using cash).

I have never seen an "honesty box" anywhere.

I prefer cash for small purchase, but do occasionally use a contactless card. For major purchase, diesel etc., I use a credit card.
