I know what you are saying, the moment the insurance is not renewed is the moment that the item that was covered gets broken..sods law
My advice for what it's worth is that for just the peace of mind is pay the premium

Yes, it is important that I don't lose or damage them. After all, they are my 30th anniversary present (for 2nd May) from my first wife!

So I think you're right. I'd better insure them.

Now what do I get her? She doesn't like pearls!

A dinner in a nice restaurant..not bloody Harvesters..somewhere romantic .. it works fine for me..and I have been married 43 years this August

McDonald's eh? Big spender, when I was courting back in the dark ages Wimpy was the restaurant of choice, you got your burger on a plate, that was class.
