yes they have

the vikings invaded Wales as did the Normans oh yes I forgot about the Romans so where does it mention the English?

Strange, in the years I lived there , nobody ever mentioned sporadic raids by Vikings, Roman occupation or Normans but they never shut up about the English on a daily basis. So as the words are recent I will suggest they refer to the English .
