My grandson is very lucky and is in a school that sets great store by spelling correctly and he's only 5 so the message is getting home early. He can read really well and his maths is good, too.Re: Spelling and grammar
I did go to a pseudo posh school but yelling and the cane is no way to teach children the difference between the vocative,and other such terms,same with French-your mother`s Aunt might be your Grandmother and such insults.Re: Spelling and grammar
It always surprises me how many 'professionals' are unable to spell. I realise that it's not always necessary in order to understand what they are writing but when I left school in the late seventies, spelling was essential if you wanted a good job.Re: Spelling and grammar
My 6-y.o. granddaughter showed me her reading book's "teacher's comments" section a few weeks ago. It was littered with grammatical errors and spelling mistakes from her teacher. many parents complained about similar remarks from this teacher.Re: Spelling and grammar
