Re: Euro Passport

Anyone with Irish ancestry can apply via that route. A work colleague is thinking of doing this.

But then of course you have all the issues of dual nationality...

Re: Euro Passport

My passport runs out at the end of May 2018.

I wonder what the chances are of my getting one of the old, blue British passports?

On the other hand, I could have one of the very last maroon EU passports. It might even be worth a bob or two in the future as they become increasingly more rare!

It still requires residency.

You should speak to the French consulate to check. A right of blood citizenship shouldn't require you to live in the country.

I was thinking about this and reckon they will have ID card style passports in future rather than paper ones. Everything is becoming electronic.

I agree. I can see no reason why we should not have credit card sized passports. As you say, personal information, visas and even a photograph could be included electronically.

And how much more convenient to keep it in a wallet.

I still have my old blue one though just for nostalgia. It was my first passport while still at school

I think I do too, mouldering away somewhere in the back of a drawer.
