Corbyns forced to let off rebels

The Labour Party seems to be in deep doo dah .
His own whips have refused a three line whip to support article 50 and he has let them off !
Normally they would have to resign their positions.
Is this the end of the Labour Party .

Well he could do anything else as he has a long history of voting conscientiously rather than along party lines. I would have thought less of him if he had punished anyone for doing the same.

It's pretty obvious that it's not so much the moral high ground, and allowing his front benchers & whips to vote according to their conscience, but rather the simple fact that he's hardly got anyone left to replace them with

Labour Party what Labour Party.
They are just a bunch of monkeys dancing to the tune of the idle rich. Been like that since the 70's so who really gives a toss about a failed peoples party.

This country is now a one party country and it will stay that way for sometime to come.

Then he should not have put a three line whip on his party.

This just shows up his bully boy antics and his stupidy

Re: Corbyns forced to let off rebels

If Corby sacks his front bench rebels he will be pushed to replace them, how embarrassing would it be to have an almost empty front bench ...

In this particular case though he can see support for his party among the rank and file slipping away as a great many supported and voted for `Brexit` with some even changing allegiance to other parties.

His resorting to a three line whip to force Labour MPs to vote for the White Paper outlining the terms for Article 50 is an attempt to convince the Labour voters that Labour will indeed honour the wishes of those who voted to leave the EU.

That's true, I think for the Labour Party this is a particularly difficult question though as we are pretty much split on eu always have been. It's always been that we are a broad church and tolerate each part, the referendum has really damaged that tolerance. Now being asked to either vote for country or their constituents I'm just glad I'm not an MP and having to make that call. Labour have always had a bit of a difficult time with discipline we don't like to be told what to do

Re: Corbyns forced to let off rebels

The reason why the Labour Party is losing support and it is losing support is that it continues its stupid promotion of emigration .
That is the reason why people voted out of the EU they don't want mass immigration
I would have thought that even the most obtuse of party leaders would have got the message by now.
