Re: Harsh Prison Sentences

Hi

A different view, but that is just me.

We have one of the worst re offending rates in the world.

I was part of a piece of work looking at why.

The results were interesting.

94% of Enforcement Activity was against 4% of the Population.

The main issues were Drink, Drugs and Domestics, not serious crime.

These were family related, same people over and over again.

We need to address this, sentencing is not an option for these idiots, they revel in it.

It is a matter of honour for them.

The reason they let off Pedophiles lightly is beacuse some of them have the same tendncies

And..if you are an attractive female...you will get away with murder

British Justice
Exactly, which is why I am fully in favour of democratically elected judges, perhaps every few years.

If judges are publicly accountable, it is likely that they will be more concerned about press reports of their behaviour. Being accountable to no-one is rather similar to being a dictator... like Hitler or Kim Young'un.

Without corroborating evidence, they'd get nowhere.

A good reason for the expansion of the relatively new idea of police body cameras which, incidentally, provide evidential protection for the police themselves.

I have the ideal suggestion for dealing with drunks too, especially those kicking hell out of each other.

Don't bother to arrest them and take them to the nick; take them for a nice ride out into the countryside, perhaps about ten miles, and then let them go.

A nice walk in the countryside, especially if cold and wet, would be good for them and would help them sober up.

And just ignore the inevitable bleating of the hand-wringers.

Re: Harsh Prison Sentences

Hi

I have a simple view of life.

90 % of our prisoners are Social inadequates, rehab is better than punishment.

The real hard nuts, we should treat as they do in Poland

Piotrków Trybunalski, they do not get out out of prison there, absolutely no contact with the outside world or other prisoners.
