You do the crime....expect the time.

Age is not a reason to get off with a crime.....though I bet he wishes he were in America..statute of limitations.

If this was in 77 and 78 and the victim is in her 40's then the oldest she could have been at the time is 9 years old. It's possible she was much younger than that.

Is prison any worse than an old folks home one wonders?

I wonder if he will even be able to remember what happened?
I also wonder why the alleged victim left it so long to say anything?

What are your thoughts on this?
If he is deemed fit to stand trial he should certainly do so, and if found guilty be sent to prison, just like any other pervert.

We should have a limit on how long after attacks take place they can be acted on. I've always thought main idea of prison was to keep others safe, if he's as stated I doubt he's a danger to anyone.

One thing does bother me is not just this case, all the cases we've heard. Did any of the people think of future victims ? One of the things made Tasha report and go to court, and that was rough on her, very rough, was she didn't want any other young woman to go through what she did. She felt responsible that others may be raped if she didn't report.

I think their should be no limit if a child was abused and it can be proven then it could be that evidence can be turned up that may convict others who may still be abusing others.

But im against naming people until they are convicted of a crime.

Trouble is the money spent on cases like this mean today's cases have less spent on them. Punish an elderly man who can't any longer offend or save a child today ?

Actually Muddy, That's not a bad idea!
When we start to get really old and infirm, just rob a bank, set fire to the Houses of Parliament or somewhere important where there will be no people in the building.
Get sent to prison for the rest of your life, live quite well and no worries about paying nursing home fees!
I must find a note pad to jot down ideas for my wicked plan...

Back on thread, the trial will probably kill him off!

There should never be a limit on how long after an attack that it can be acted upon, especially in the case of sexual abuse. It can be very hard for a victim to come forward, especially if it happened in the past when such things weren't talked about.
