There should never be a limit on how long after an attack that it can be acted upon, especially in the case of sexual abuse. It can be very hard for a victim to come forward, especially if it happened in the past when such things weren't talked about.

If the man is going to trial then it's highly likely to be some basis for the court case. The C.P.S has to have some evidence to go ahead with a prosecution.Why are some making assumptions that she must be a gold digger. I too think that every accusation of sex abuse should be persued. They days of women being disbelieved by the authorities are supposedly gone.

Is it any wonder some sex crimes go unreported?
People(well, some)forget that the CPS make the decision after careful consideration and debate and have to be relatively confident of a conviction before proceding.

Indeed they do TPin. Careful investigations are carried out before any prosecution. They do not just rely on the word of the accuser, so she must have convinced some one that she was being truthful.As for there being a time limit. I wonder if some think that the murder of some one should be allowed to disappear in the annals of time too. The victims of sexual abuse will never forget and neither should the law.
