Fibre glass

Does anyone know how to cut fibre glass up and dispose of it?

Re: Fibre glass

Might be as well to phone the tip first to see if they will take it?

Of course they'll take it.
It is not carcinogenic but it is harmful if breathed in, ingested or finds it's way into your eyes.

It's nothing like Asbestos Alex, asbestos is a mineral and is carcinogenic and very dangerous and can and does cause lung cancer if only one single 'thread' in inhaled.

Re: Fibre glass

Alex, for the sake of a 2 minute phone call, there'd be no harm in making sure its acceptable before you take the time to go trudging off on a wasted journey. Maybe it would come under trade waste? Not all domestic tips take trade waste.

By the way, are you talking about fibreglass sheets or fibreglass insulation?

You could try inhaling it and waiting ten years or so to see whether you develop lung cancer ... Failing that ask someone to look at it for you and Google it too !
