Re: Anger Raises Chances Of A Heart Attack. Grrrrr!

I am slow to anger, however if i do its usually cataclysmic. Couple of tears bach a dumbo setting his dog on some roosting birds, was asked politly to stop. He then descended into a tirade at me which i just smiled at. Then he threatened to beat me up, at which point the red mist came and i invited him to try. It only took him seconds to realise his mistake and he disappeared like s**t off a stick. However i started having chest pains, and realised after having a previous heart attack i cant be that person anymore.

The red mist is something I hope I never see again-I`m old and peaceful, can`t run but I do have an elbow. Only ever used it once in self defence-it causes a lot of damage

One has to feel ******* happy or ******* relaxed first.

Putting it on will only serve to ******* ******* raise the blood pressure even ******* further

[QUOTE=Boozercruiser;951126]The below was in a newspaper article.
In view of that, how are your anger levels recently then?
If they are high, take my advice and...

After all, I don't want to lose any of you!

______________

Can anger precipitate a heart attack?

Well yes and no....
Speaking as the survivor of two heart attacks my take on it is this.....
To have a heart attack you need to have blocked or partially blocked coronary arteries.
If you have a heart attack after an emotional episode you would have had an attack tomorrow, the next day, next week or even next year. It was waiting to happen and the longer until it did would lessen your chances of survival. My attack happened after a run, had I not been a runner it would probably have happened a couple of years later when the plaque in the arteries would have been a lot more advanced and my chances of survival would have been lot less, or even non existent.

I used to have a phenomenally bad temper, I mean really bad. I use to throw things and really let rip
My dad was the same.
My sister was the same.

Now I rarely shout, but do feel riled at times, particularly at assholes on the roads and noisy neighbours and kids and cats and smugness and selfish people and politicians and.....ooooh I'd better shut up
