Re: Solo holidays

Yes, quite a few over the years. With Saga and with Just You. (Also genuinely solo, on my own, B&B-ing.) What did you want to know?

Re: Solo holidays

Yes, went solo with Jules Verne to Rome, a number of singles in the group all very friendly.
Booked myself in b&b for a week's escape to Lulworth on several occasions, also on the overnighter to Scotland.

Hi, it's just that l have been warned off a few holiday company's, so really not sure which ones to go for. Did you get to know a few people before you went, or just do it? Thanks for reply

Just do it! I've been travelling solo since I went to America at the age of 21. My aunt, at the time, commented how brave I was. I wanted to go, so nothing stood in my way!

And if I waited for companions...well I'd wait for the rest of my life, so I just get on with it, and make the most of the time I'm away.

If you're nervous or not confident, take baby steps. A few nigts away here in the UK, then build up.

Myrtle is the holder of the Solo Holidays trophy here I think, and I might follow up a close second! At the moment, what's stopping me is hospital appointments, and giving computer lessons now each Monday, but I am trying to work round it. And everywhere is expensive this month, but I'm longing to get away again.

Re: Solo holidays

I thought at first you was talking about the travel firm Solo,
I travel a lot by myself ,and like Myrtle i go by Coach mostly short breaks ,Ive booked 2 breaks away by the same coach company which is local to me ,for next year and have two this year to go on .

Leeby , try a local one and look for reviews ,and for how long they have been doing them for ..if they have been going years thats a good testament i think ..

Re: Solo holidays

Thank you all for your replies. Yes, maybe a short break in the UK to start with. Not quite sure where I fancy, as I have travelled a lot with my daughter the past 6 years. Perhaps Europe, will look into it.......thank you

Re: Solo holidays

Yep... just driven round Australia by myself. It's the only way to travel at my age.
