Re: Snooker

Alex was the most gifted, natural player ever - never missed a match with him.
So tragic and he is very much missed ......

Re: Snooker

It was much better in black band white, all the coloured balls were worth 7 points.

Re: Snooker

I can't say I liked Alex Higgins that much.
A good player but certainly not the best in the world.
I love watching Ronnie O'Sullivan, now there's talent.

Joe Davis was the best ever (a good friend of my uncle)
Steve Davies, Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White all nice characters in the game.

So lilac, darts is plebeian is it?
Maybe this forum is too common for you?

Re: Snooker

I met Ray Reardon and Alex Higgins at a local hall when they were playing an exhibition match, Reardon was an absolute gent but Higgins was just a drunken arrogant slob..

Re: Snooker

Higgins had 2 sides to his character, you caught him on an off day
Reardon was smashing, probably still is

Re: Snooker

But Alex was such a character and that's missing now. I don't watch it now, either although Ronnie is my favourite.

I read his autobiography but when he mentioned an old woman in her 50's I put the book down!
