Re: Why do mammograms ...
For all those who are suffering from cancer & concerned about Realists conspiracy theory, this may be interesting for you!
The first specialist cancer hospital, in Britain, was The Christie and it was based in the outskirts of Manchester. Back in the early 60's I saw it and it looked a bit like a prefabricated, white scout hut. In those days, if you went into that hospital, the only way out was in a coffin! However people still believed that , one day, it would be possible to find new treatments and that is when the research was started.
Over the years many charitable donations were given, in the hope of finding cures, and today the Christie is an enormous hospital that still only treats cancer. On average they have a 50% success rate, and many of those who don't survive are usually down to late discovery of the cancer.
Seven years ago, I was treated by the Christie & have now been cured. They tell me that the reason they are now so busy is because so many people are surviving & the outpatients clinics are full to overflowing as they need to check them regularly to ensure, for a minimum of 5 years, that it does not return!
What is cancer?
There is a potential for everybody to get cancer, because it is cells that mutate & these cells double at twice the rate of normal cells.... therefore forming tumours that grow so fast that they prevent normal body functions.
They are often caused by our lifestyles, so Realists natural potions may help in stopping the cells mutating, but they won't cure it once it has started!
Of course Pharmaceutical Companies make money from their products, but they do need to recoupe the billions of pounds they have spent on research.
For those who choose to believe the conspiracy theories, it is your life so your choice, but for those who are unsure, I would say that I had Chemo, surgery & radio therapy and there has been no trace of cancer for the last 7 years.
Sometimes a mutant cancer cell can travel, via your blood or lymphatic system, to another part of your body. That is how people get secondary tumours & why the hospital check you for so many years after your treatment!
