Dressing it up

Your salad that is

All I can stomach eating of an evening in this heat, is my one source of protein..
Be it fish, Quorn/soya or veg based
...and a crispy salad (usually iceberg lettuce, grated carrot and red cabbage.

Although I love balsamic dressing and many other types of America or Asian inspired dressings I tend to always resort back to good old salad cream at the moment
I think it's the light vinegar tang but wirh the luxury of a bit of creaminess too.

What do you put on your salad?

Re: Dressing it up

Sometimes salad cream, mayo or even Tare tare sauce.

I also have some raspberry vinegar and some ginger vinegar which goes well with a little olive oil.

Re: Dressing it up

I use Sainsbury’s sweet chilli and coriander dressing from the chilled salad shelves, mmmm... it’s delicious!

Cor that does sound nice but I've just had a cod steak with a rosemary crumb
I wonder if that dressing might have drowned out the delicate flavour

I've never come across vinegars with those flavours Dongy
And yes you're right, tartare sauce is nice with a fish as is Thousand Island dressing although that's too sweet for anything other than prawns really

Re: Dressing it up

Ok you asked for it Rhi

I chop up cucumber, cherry tomatoes, spring onion, red & green peppers, crab sticks, feta cheese cubed and lambs lettuce. I then add olive oil, garlic granules or lazy garlic, dried mixed herbs, basil, smoked paprika, turmeric, a little cumin and a little mint sauce. I then mix it all up together and voila, a scrumptious herb and spicy salad. Might not be for everyone but my hubby, son, dad and I absolutely love it. It's YUM YUM and goes in our TUM

Oh almost forgot, I also add a little light mayo
