Hi

Here is a list of the 43 products recalled because of listeria in sweetcorn.

Well, I ate none of them but have what I can imagine listeria feels like.

Yes, we heard about that. We don't do frozen vegetables a lot but had one bag of mixed. This was actually to give to our dog as part of his slimming regime. I don't know whether dogs can get listeria but they bag was disposed of.

I only eat frozen peas but this is enough to put you off cooking any frozen veg again!

Veg is going to be cooked surely so a bit of an over-sensationalised article.

Hi

It is the sweetcorn which is contaminated, and that is ready cooked, often added to salads after being defrosted.

Listeria is nasty stuff, mortality can be 25% in compromised groups, as against 1% for salmonella.

Some recalls are panic things, I think this one is justified.

the whole of world wide industries churning out foods from everywhere and sending to everywhere behoves us all to take care both in our raw salads and our cooking - I can remember as a young fellow just selecting vegie and salads from the garden - all freshly picked and eaten - oh happy days!

Hi

What this does show is that price is not a guarantee of quality.

All these came from a single supplier.

I haven't had any frozen vegetables since leaving my working class roots in the early eighties.
