Smashing photos thanks for posting them.
I confess to being a little worried though, every one says my gran had this and that, those first pictures could have been our house, especially the green algae in the lean -to.

Our khazi was a later version though as it had a door at the rear for the 'bucket and chuck it' lads access, and a hook not a nail for the daily mirror toilet sheets.

The mangle was also a blast from the past, quite took me back, thankyou so much.

Oh yes I remember wash day,Grannie got up at the crack of Dawn to get the boiler going and if it was raining it still happened, home from school to washing hanging all round the kitchen. Tuesday was ironing day.

Brilliant photos and very interesting. Brought back memories of my Grandma's house and two elderly sisters house who lived next door to us when we were all young. Makes you appreciate what we have now-can't seem to remember any of them ever complaining about their lot though. Thanks for posting them-enjoyed looking at them.

Very nice photos. I remember the old corner shops, which used to be on the corner of most streets. Going for a pound of loose butter and the home made bread. Lovely piece of warm bread with butter.

I really enjoyed going to the B.C.M went there a few times when my nieces when they were younger had our pictures taken in the old style dress.
