I wouldn't say 'their usually, unfocussed, untrained owners' as there must be many car owners who are very good and careful drivers, plus of course many ex-motorcyclists like myself who do take a lot of care on the roads due to previous experience gained on motorcycles.
I agree with you Baz, as far as ex bikers are concerned, but
I stand by my comments regarding car drivers for the
following reasons. How many drivers have been bikers.
How many drivers are under 30 yrs old
How many drivers drive using a cell phone
How many drivers passed their test first time
How many drivers are over 65yrs
How many drivers with stereo music on full blast
Yes, a bikers profile is less than a cars, but car drivers know
they are sharing the roads with bikes, they should excercise
more alertness when turning or pulling out.
Sure, bikers can also improve their behaviour by obeying
speed limits, not changing direction rapidly in traffic etc.
I think the sheer volume of cars as compared to bikes
is what causes the problem.
However, enough of that, lets be glad we had the chance
to get into biking at all.
