Re: Truth or what?

I think if they didn't want to know then they wouldn't ask me. And no, I wouldn't lie. I work in a charity shop and have sometimes said "I think that's awful on you, to be honest" if a customer's asked my opinion and I don't think it suits them. Why lie about it just for a sale?

I tend to say I loved what you were wearing the other day it really suited you rather than tell them straight something looked bad today. My husband with his apergers cannot tell a lie and it isn't always kind to tell the blatant truth all the time.

Personally I think a policy of "Tell the truth at all costs" is a misguided one. There could possibly be times when the least damage is done by either dodging the issue or even by telling a lie. It's called being tactful.

I agree Alan it can even be unkind to just blurt out the truth.

Iīm with Julie on this, it isnīt always best to tell the truth, one personīs truth is not always anotherīs. It also depends on the person who asks you, if itīs a close friend then you can be more honest, if not there are ways of answering tactfully.

Absolutely agree ......
If someone asked me, I would say what I thought of it but add, that's just my opinion if you love it, that's all that matters .......
