Heartless Government

I have disabled Facebook friends who are constantly posting about the anguish they are suffering at the hands of this Government. They post links to various topics and they are numerous and frankly sickening; sickening as to how, in this day and age, people can be treated so badly. We are not talking about 'strong' people either but the most defenseless. This is the real face of the Conservative party and always has been - privileged, cruel people.

Read this in it's entirety to see what I mean ...

Yes, people can starve in benefit-sanctions Britain
(The Guardian)

The desperation of men, women and children detailed in the report may be worth a few minutes’ pause from our leaders and officials: the unemployed woman from Birkenhead who was taken to hospital with malnutrition after not eating for five days because she had no money to buy food; the heavily pregnant woman and her partner found living, without food, in a child’s tent near a church in a wealthy Berkshire town in the middle of winter; a Wirral man crushed to death after a lorry picked up the bin in which he was scavenging for food. He had not, funnily enough, lost a recipe or failed to work the oven. The jobcentre had suspended his benefits, and he had received no money for 17 weeks.
This is no way to treat people and hasn't been for a while now yet this government is still able to starve people to death it seems; but it gets them off the books eh - great. They should be brought to account for the way they have treated such vulnerable people. When though is the point?

Poverty and homelessness is a disgrace in this day and age. The Government is a joke.

Re: Heartless Government

I agree there was a lot needed reform in the benefits system but it's not making a jot of difference to the people I see cheating, it's really hitting honest people who need help.

Also great to encourage people back into work but there has to be work for them to do before you remove their life line.

Quite right Mark, the Tories always look after their own kind and to hell with anyone else.

Labour did a fairly good impression of doing that too.

Yes they make a career of politics instead of coming into it from a real job.

If I had to choose, it would be old labour - not sure about the new lot.

Re: Heartless Government

I keep all of my friends as their political views are theirs and I can choose to agree or not.

What does upset me though are a couple of `cyber friends` who appear to have confused `Britain First`with patriotism
