Ebola in Scotland

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-30628349

Why do these so called do gooders come back to the UK with something like this putting everyone here at risk.

They should stay out there for the rest of their lives, its their choice to go over there anyway. it really makes me want to spit blood, our training and expertise wasted on countries that can't even be bothered to help themselves .
Those in power ride around in expensive cars living the high life instead of hand the money to educate their own medical staff
We have a tremendous shortage of doctors here in the Uk and that is where they should be, looking after or own sick and injured.
Now we are all at sever risk via passangers returning on the same flight.

Sorry but this type of occurance gets right up my nose. Why was this and every other person working out there not given 6 months quarrantine the same as we used to have for dogs before they even consider returning to the UK.

It makes me so mad. Then to cap it all they are going to bring here to London to help spread this infection even more so more people are put at risk

What is up with these so called experts? don't they have a brain? the patient should be put on a remote island and treated there with everyone on board with her as well

I think it is amazing that there are people in this world prepared to sacrifice their own safety to help their fellow man.

I have no religion but I feel we all have a duty to help others when we can, it is called common humanity...

Re: Ebola in Scotland

I think it would have spread much faster and further if people hadn't gone there to help, there would be no control over it at all. I understand why you feel like that realspeed, but, the isolation hospital will be very well trained and will do their utmost to contain this dreadful disease so will the authorities tracing and treating the contacts, let's not panic until we have to and give help and credit where it's due. If it had started here we would be grateful for any help that was forthcoming. I sincerely hope this person gets better, but, even if they don't they will probably have given some extra insight into this disease and hopefully help to find a cure.

If i feel strongly about something i will say so. This person flies into the uk with a disease and get treatment straight away.

I have lived-worked and paid my taxes for 55 years and only had to use ther national health service about 5 times for minor problems like dog bites etc.

Now I need to see an eye specialist urgently and I can't even get an appointment after 3 months wait. They would rather I went blind in one eye than look after their own.

Yes it is strongly worded and every word meant. There is too much of the do gooders in this country running around the world helping every other nation but their own. If this is what they want to do then they should at least pay back the money this country spent training them

I make no apology for my remarks it is how I feel

This person got the disease out there so send her back to get treated out there.

Twizard

They are moving her to London in presumably public transport or ambulance causing even more risk. So isolating in Glasgow is pointless

By all means help our fellow man after helping ones own first. The A&E dept in hospitals are over run with people needing help, just look at the TV news. So that is where our priorities should start

Thank you but I also don't believe in prayers. Lets put it this way.

There are umpteen religions in the world and each believe theirs is the correct one, hence throughout history most wars are over religion.

Prayers may well suit those who believe it helps and I have no quarrel with that, its when it is pushed onto others that I object to

Anyway I have as much right as anyone else on here to say what I think, even if others don't agree

What makes you so certain that this healthcare worker is not 'one of their own' ?
