Bring back proper pubs.

Anyone else remember when you could go into a pub for a couple of pints on your way home from work without having to put up with inane music channels on TV or bloody loud juke boxes?
I am seriously thinking about signing the pledge.

I went out for sunday lunch recently in a tiny country pub, and the flippin' dining table was only about 8ft away from the flippin' skittles table. Most irritating when you're trying to eat dinner and enjoy a chat!

Had quite a few pubs slightly North of us that had those, Ongley Arms at Eyeworth is one that I remember and Red Lion at Ridgemont was another.

Ours are now "gastro pubs" beer is £5 a pint in some, you don't feel you can just go in for a drink and often have to book a table

Pubs have had to change with the times and in some,yes some ways for the better. The nostalgia of a few pints and a game of darts and dommies was also the era of drunk driving. But charging a fortune for some food and wine that clearly came from Lidl is a bit much

Go into one of the smaller real ale pubs, the little 'uns that sometimes have a micro brewery attached - that's a pub! No loud music or machinery .... or kids!! Just nice, clean, old fashioned style pubs serving ales and a good choice not at rip off prices either.
We have one nearby that used to be the waiting room for the railway station, tiny but well used..

Working men's clubs all closed around here, no posers pubs in this area
