are there any washing machine gurus on here?

My Candy washing machine has decided to stop working.

There's power, there's water but it won't start any cycle.
All the lights are on.

I'm not getting someone out to tell me its knackered, I'd rather buy a new one but I'll have a go its a small fault.

Any ideas.

Did you get a booklet with it? Have a look to see if it's mentioned in there? How old is it?

Kick it

Have you checked the filter ?
If the extractor filter is clogged the the machine will not start.
My washer stopped working a few weeks ago, I tried everything and had to 'get a man in' he said have you tried switching it off at the socket and then switching it on again ?
I said 'no' ... We located the socket, switched it off and back on again, it worked a treat !
The computer controlled mechanism has just 'Frozen' and so it just needed resetting.

I've just found the problem.
Its the door locking mechanism.

That's my own fault.
I found out that if you don't want to wait for the 90second delay after the wash cycle completes hit the door above the handle and it opens.

I think I've overdone it over the months since discovering this

I know but I'm a bit miffed with myself for not realising they don't like being thumped every day

Just trying to find a part number to order it.
