Re: assisted dying
I'd call it a step in the right direction ... good for them.Re: assisted dying
Been sat long hours in various wards recently and I'm more convinced than ever we must help people die if that is what they want. One lady of seventy was begging to be allowed to die, but because she was deemed unfit to make that decision she was being brought back time and again from the brink.Re: assisted dying
The UK is lagging behind Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Australia and certain states in the USA in making assisted dying legal. I used to belong to Dignity in Dying, which campaigns for it in the UK, but I got so disillusioned with the House of Commons on the 2 recent attempts to push it through, that I am no longer involved. Sadly I think it will be many years before the UK sees sense. Certainly not in my lifetime. If I need assisted dying, I am resigned to having to do a "Short Stay in Switzerland".Re: assisted dying
Re: assisted dying
there is another definition of "assisted dying" and that is "providing as much pain relief as is needed, comfort and care which in itself assists the person to die peacefully.Thread Tools | |
