Men. Why do we bother?

Why is it so difficult to find a decent man out there who doesn't think with his **** first? Yes I know they are made that way, so why am I complaining? It's just that when someone approached me, and we had a nice conversation, then he asks "have you got curves", but then you find out what he really meant to ask is "do you have big boobs", I think why the heck am I bothering.

Should I just go and live in a shack in the middle of nowhere? Get myself a dog or a cat and howl at the moon? Answers on a postcard please to the home for the bewildered.
Sorry, one too many Baileys, rant over.

Hi

You may well find men who have the same opinion as you in respect of women.

There is nothing nicer, to my mind, than being in a relationship with a lovely woman.

It is not just the sex, it is the kisses and cuddles, the shared experiences, the mutual support.

The sense that you can both laugh at the same things, a meeting of minds, shared experiences, but also the respect that both of you may have different interests, need time alone, but will never let each other down.

I have never found such a partner, I know many who have, and yes, I am jealous of them.

Re: Men. Why do we bother?

I talk to lots of men. including traders, and from the beginning I make it plain that I am only interested in their careers, their ambitions, and life style.

The majority are very polite. And I do pay them compliments if the look nice and do a good job. Men love praise.

I have never had any desire to rip a man’s trousers off, although I did have Jack Russell dog who used to chase man and rip their trousers off, and I had to replace them.

Also,I have never been asked if I had curves, as they can see that for themselves.

But sometimes in the Supermarket when looking at the Grapefruit,a male voice will comment “You don’t get many of them to the Pound, Do you”, while looking in the direction of my decollete….. I just walk away

And it is true that some men would run a mile if you propositioned them.

There are decent chaps out here who won't be flirtatious or suggestive but are polite and courteous and will look you in the eye instead of the chest.

Don't give up!

Re: Men. Why do we bother?

Firstly , I think you should realise that you are quite capable of living without a man as a permanent fixture in your life . Most women are, whilst men are not. So, there is a definite difference as to the reasons men and women would like to meet someone new.

Personally, I'd get a dog instead and not put the roof over my head at risk by any outsider who may like to shack up with all the home comforts. It's not too easy to get shut at times.....

Wine and dine, theatre and hols but don't let him share your home... very dangerous !

Just my opinion.

p.s.
(Plenty of relationships start through doggy walking)

Aysa, I'm only guessing, but surely it must have been online to ask whether Linda had curves, because if it was in person he'd be able to see for himself I'd have thought?

I also agree with Puddle Duck and yourself about having someone move in, I think I've been on my own too long to adjust to that very easily. I think I'd be terrified it wouldn't work out, and then what I do . .

Dunno, maybe two divorces have made me less trustful than I once was. Not necessarily not trusting partners, more not trusting my own judgement.
