Random Speed Limits.

Hi

Is this just a local thing, or does it happen near you?

We have a very straight, very long road just outside the village.

It was 60 mph, now, smack in the middle of the stretch, a short length has been made into a 50 mph zone for no apparent reason.

We have other bits of road here where there have been accidents and fatalities, but the speed limit has not been reduced there.

I see no logic to this, other than to generate income from speeding fines.

Yep, money is where it's at. Gonna get worse and worse. Just take your time, drive carefully, under the limits and get a dashcam if you haven't already got one. Invaulable for evidence of road signs, markings etc as well as for any actually accident you have.

Well as from yesterday, speeding fines were increased to 175% of your weekly income depending on the severity , also if you do a speed awareness course it costs 95quid, I recently attended one and there were 24 of us, and that was just an afternoon , there had already been one in the morning, and that was just one day, in one place, do the math, so yes, its all about the money. !!

No need really. They have long since had all manner of hidden speed camera options. If they chose to actually use them loads of people would be stuffed.

One of the easiest options is cameras in the cats eyes. You'd never see it coming, you'd never know just where the cameras were.

Fixed cameras cannot be concealed.
